Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | Trilogies are the bedrock of genre fiction and a fitting theme for a reading challenge. This is a reprise of one of the very first challenges created for the RYO in the first year. I tried to get creative with the new levels. Hit me with any questions and read on!

Veteran Posts: 143 Location: Alief, TX | Trilogies read so far this year: William Gibson's Bridge Trilogy (Virtual Light, Idoru, All Tomorrow's Parties) Philip K. Dick's Valis Trilogy (Valis, The Divine Invasion, The Transmigration of Timothy Archer) Also added Radio Free Albemuth, it's definitely on the same frequency I've started China Mieville's New Crobuzon Trilogy, having already finished Perdido St. Station Still have to get to Gibson's Blue Ant Trilogy.

Member Posts: 25 Location: Hitchin, UK | How did you like Perdido Street Station? I read that on my commute to work whilst trying to learn the drum track to Green Grass and High Tides by The Outlaws by listening to it on repeat... So the two are inextricably linked in my head. https://youtu.be/R82OM5tzcrk I liked the book by the way. I'd suggest Steph Swainston if you want something similar.

Veteran Posts: 143 Location: Alief, TX | I liked it a lot. There is so much world building in there, and he continued it in the next two books. There's some unbelievable stuff he came up with.

Veteran Posts: 143 Location: Alief, TX | I finished my four trilogies last week. First of my challenges down. Philip K. Dick's Valis Trilogy - truly crazy stuff there William Gibson's Bridge Trilogy William Gibson's Blue Ant Trilogy - Gibson is a genius. I kinda like how each trilogy is closer to our own time and technology China Mieville's Bas-Lag Trilogy
