Synopsis
Nebula Award nominated short story. It originally appeared in Playboy, July 1985. The story was reprinted many times and appears, among others, in the anthologies Nebula Awards 21 (1986), edited by George Zebrowski, and Robots (2005), edited by Jack Dann and Gardner Dozois. It can also be found in the collections Howard Who? (1986), Strange Things in Close-Up: The Nearly Complete Howard Waldrop (1989) and Things Will Never Be the Same: Selected Short Fiction, 1980 - 2005 (2007).
