Synopsis
Nebula Award nominated short story. It originally appeared in Worlds of If, November-December 1974. The story can aslo be found in the anthologies Best SF: 1974 (1975), edited by Harry Harrison and Brian W. Aldiss, Nebula Award Stories 11 (1976), edited by Ursula K. Le Guin and Worlds of If: A Retrospective Anthology (1986), edited by Joseph D. Olander, Martin H. Greenberg and Frederik Pohl. The story is included in the collection If All Else Fails... (1980).
