History
The New English Library was a UK book publisher founded in 1961 by the Times Mirror Company of Los Angeles when TMC tookever two small British paperback companies, Ace Books Ltd and Four Square Books Ltd. They specialised in mass market editions of science fiction, horror, and crime. In 1993 NEL bacame in imprint off Hodder Headline. They discontinued publication in 2004.
